Thank goodness for Stevie Wonder. I am generally a positive person. I try to look at the bright side and keep my thoughts optimistic for the most part. Some days that is easier done than others. This morning I woke up in a serious funk. An I-want-to-cry-and-crawl-back-in-bed-until-tomorrow funk. This is pretty unusual for me. As I was getting ready to take my daily walk in the park with Braidy (my sweet and loving 15 year old bichon poo), I gathered up my headphones and thought of ways that I could change my mood. I normally listen to audible or IIN course material on my walks. I opened up Spotify on a whim and the playlist Mood Booster seemed quite appropriate so I gave it a try. As soon as the beat started, I couldn’t help but walk to the beat of the music. I started to smile. I decided to jump right in, abandon any fear of looking like a crazy girl alone in the park and started to dance. And sing out-loud. I continued through song after song and in less than 15 minutes, I had a whole new perspective. This may be old news for many of you, but for me, it was an epiphany and an eye-opener. Sometimes, it just takes that push to just get a little out of your comfort zone and let yourself free to bring new light on an otherwise gloomy perspective. This is just a reminder to consider listening to some funky music when your day is a needing some color. Namaste, y’all. 🙂
