Confidence is often overshadowed by the fear of being perceived as arrogant or cocky. Without having self-confidence, you are severely limiting your ability to succeed, and arguably more importantly your ability to experience happiness.

Confidence can be a self-fulfilling prophecy as those without it may fail or not try because they lack it and those with it may succeed because they have it rather than because of an innate ability.

The key to this definition is that it is possible to succeed because one has confidence and the ability to stick with it rather than because they have an innate ability.  What a revelation!  Have you ever stopped something that you were pursuing because it seemed like it was going to be impossible to succeed and your inner voice was telling you this will never work?

Mindset is 99% of the game!

So how do we gain this confidence?  You can start with something very simple.  Stop for a moment and examine your posture.  Are you a bit hunched over?  Relaxing in your chair perhaps?  Take a moment and readjust yourself to sit up a little straighter.  Roll your shoulders back.  Hold you head up a little higher.  (Don’t worry about your cubicle mate next to you, she is probably still trying to wake up. ;))  Now lastly, close your eyes, take a deep breath and imagine yourself walking down the street with your head high, feeling good about yourself and smiling to passersby.  Let it sink in.

How did that make you feel?  Are you noticing a slight change in how you feel about yourself?  Continue this for the week ahead.  When you notice yourself feeling a little down, straighten up and find that smile within you.  You will naturally feel better.  Also make sure to give yourself love.  We all need love.

Speaking of love, I am participating in Oprah and Deepak’s 21 day free meditation course that started yesterday.  Today’s centering thought is quite fitting:

I am here to bring more love into the world.

Keep this in mind and with inner love for yourself, you will naturally bring that love and positive energy to those around you.  Be fearless in your craft whether you are a knitter, painter, paper-crafter or other creative soul.  You will create an abundance of beauty and you will glow from within.

Until next week,

xoxo ~Amber
