Hi, I’m Amber!
How to handle finances when your partner spends differently than you
In this week’s episode of Profit for Joy TV, I’m talking about how to handle finances when your partner spends differently than you.
Your partner probably doesn’t share all of your personality and strengths, opposites attract, right? And yet, most of us expect our partners to handle finances the same way we do. We get frustrated or angry when our partners make money choices that don’t align with our plan or values.
Let’s take a step back. Why did you step into entrepreneurship? I bet I can tell you. Freedom! You wanted time freedom, control freedom, money freedom, right? Just remember that’s why you are here and talking to your partner about your finances…for the sake of freedom….for both of you. For your family. Regularly discussing finances and having a financial plan within your partnership can bring you some of the greatest freedom you can imagine.
I’ve worked with so many couples and on this episode, I will share with you what I’ve found to be the most effective tools to finally get on the same page as your partner about finances, even when they spend differently than you.
- Understanding what your partner might be feeling
- Joint accounts and shared budgets
- Learn your budgeting style
