Let’s return to a topic we haven’t discussed in a while…True Expenses.

What are True Expenses?

True Expenses are the less-frequent expenses that come up in life. They’re not the monthly expenses that you pay on a regular basis, like rent or groceries. Instead, they’re the expenses that you don’t pay regularly but that you know will come up eventually.

Examples of True Expenses

  • Car repairs
  • Christmas presents
  • Vacation expenses
  • Annual subscriptions
  • Medical bills
  • House repairs or home improvement projects

Why you should include True Expenses in your spending plan

Including True Expenses in your spending plan (budget) helps you avoid creating unwanted debt. You won’t have to reach for that credit card you just paid off! It can also help you reach your financial goals and have peace of mind. Actively allocating funds for these expenses means you won’t be hit with a surprise.

In this week’s episode of Profit for Joy® TV, I will discuss:

  • What True Expenses are
  • Some examples of True Expenses
  • Why you should include them in your spending plan

I’d love to hear from you! Do you have True Expenses in your budget? What are some of your True Expenses? Comment below and let me know!
